Received a phone call from a mother of a combat vet wanting to know how she could help vets with her service dog. After some talking and steering her the right direction she broke down in tears and wanted to talk about her son, his anger and wanting to know if that was normal. His helicopter was shot down and three of his childhood friends were killed. Since then he hasn’t talked to her much and is very self destructive, it was a different perspective listening to how combat affects the mother. She had never heard of the outreach center so I directed her there to talk to them and she could get the tools for herself at least.
